# AI Models

Crew offers four AI models, each with different strengths. You can let Crew choose automatically or pick one yourself.

## Auto Mode (Recommended)

By default, Crew is set to **Auto** mode. It analyzes your message and routes it to the best model automatically:

* **Simple messages** (greetings, short questions) → Crew Flash
* **Standard tasks** (email, search, general conversation) → Crew Core
* **Complex tasks** (analysis, coding, document creation) → Crew Insight

This means you always get the right balance of speed and intelligence without thinking about it.

## The Four Models

### Crew Flash — Fast & Efficient

The fastest model. Great for quick answers, simple lookups, and casual conversation. Uses the fewest credits per message.

### Crew Core — Smart & Reliable

The everyday workhorse. Handles most tasks well — email drafting, web search, calendar management, and general Q\&A. A good balance of capability and cost.

### Crew Insight — Deep & Analytical

The power model for complex work. Best for detailed analysis, coding, long document creation, and multi-step research tasks.

### Crew Prime — Maximum Power

The most capable model available. Handles the most demanding tasks with the highest quality. **Available on the Pro plan only.**

## Choosing a Model Manually

Click the model selector at the bottom of the chat input to switch between Auto and specific models. Your selection applies to the current conversation.

## Credits & Models

Different models use different amounts of credits per message. Faster models cost less, while more powerful models cost more. See [Credits Explained](/billing-and-plans/credits-explained.md) for detailed pricing.
