# My Files & File Attachments

My Files is your personal cloud storage that works seamlessly with your AI agent. Upload any files, and your agent can search, read, and use them across all conversations — in web chat and every connected messenger.

## My Files

### What Is My Files?

Think of My Files as a shared workspace between you and your AI assistant. When you upload documents, spreadsheets, images, or any other files, they're automatically processed and understood by your agent. You don't need to attach a file every time — just ask a question, and your agent already knows what's in your documents.

### Getting Started

1. Click **My Files** in the sidebar (or press **F**) to open your files
2. Upload files by **dragging and dropping**, or click the **Upload** button
3. Organize files into **folders** as needed
4. That's it — your agent can now access these files in any conversation

### What Makes My Files Special

**AI-Ready Automatically** Every file you upload is automatically read and understood by your AI agent. Behind the scenes, Crew creates smart indexes (vector embeddings) of your documents so the agent can instantly find relevant information when you ask a question.

**Search by Content, Not Just File Names** Need to find something? Don't remember the file name? No problem — search by what's *inside* the file. Your agent finds the exact document based on the content, not just the title.

**Works Everywhere** Files in My Files are accessible from web chat, WhatsApp, Slack, Telegram, Discord, LINE, KakaoTalk, Microsoft Teams — every channel you've connected. Ask about a document on your phone through WhatsApp, and your agent pulls up the answer.

**Folder Upload Support** You can upload entire folders at once. Drag a folder from your computer into My Files, and the folder structure is preserved.

### What You Can Do

Ask your agent to work with your files naturally:

> "Find the meeting notes from last month and summarize them."

> "Search my files for anything related to the Q4 budget."

> "Organize all my files into folders by category."

> "Compare these two reports and tell me the key differences."

> "Save this conversation as a document in my files."

### Agent-Created Files

When Crew creates a document, image, spreadsheet, or other file during a conversation, it's automatically saved to the **Agent** folder in your files. These agent-created files:

* Are accessible from any future conversation
* **Don't count** toward your storage quota
* Are automatically cleaned up after 90 days

### Storage Limits by Plan

## File Attachments in Chat

You can also attach files directly in chat messages for one-time analysis — without uploading them to My Files.

### How to Upload

Click the **attachment icon** (paperclip) in the chat input area, or simply **drag and drop** a file into the chat. Crew accepts a wide range of file types:

* **Documents**: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, TXT, CSV, JSON, HTML
* **Images**: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP (up to 20MB)
* **Audio**: MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, WebM, FLAC
* **Archives**: ZIP

### What Crew Can Do with Attached Files

**Documents:**

> "Summarize this PDF report." "Extract all the data from this Excel spreadsheet and create a chart." "Translate this DOCX file into Spanish."

**Images:**

> "What's in this image?" "Read the text from this screenshot." (OCR) "This is a mockup — suggest improvements for the UI design."

**Audio:**

> "Transcribe this audio recording." "Summarize the key points from this meeting recording."

**Spreadsheets:**

> "Analyze this CSV file and find trends in monthly sales." "Create a pivot table from this Excel data."

## Tips

* **Use My Files for files you'll reference repeatedly** — upload once, ask about them anytime
* **Use chat attachments for one-off analysis** — quick questions about a specific file
* **Upload multiple files** in one message for comparison or combined analysis
* **Combine with tools**: Upload a spreadsheet, then ask Crew to run code to analyze it — the file is automatically available in the code sandbox
