# Publishing to the Community

Created a useful custom tool? Share it with the Crew community by publishing it to the Marketplace.

## How It Works

1. **Create** a custom tool that you find useful
2. **Submit** it for review
3. **Review**: The Crew team reviews your submission for quality and safety
4. **Published**: Once approved, your tool appears in the Community section of the Marketplace

## Submitting a Tool

### From the Marketplace Page

1. Go to **Marketplace**
2. Click **Submit to Marketplace** in the header
3. Select one of your custom tools from the dropdown
4. Choose a **category** from the available options:
   * Search, Productivity, Business, Marketing, AI, Development, Content, Media, Utility
5. Click **Submit**

### Submission Review

After submission, your tool enters a review process:

* **Pending Review**: Your tool is in the queue
* **Approved**: Your tool is live in the Community Marketplace
* **Rejected**: The tool didn't meet guidelines (you'll be given feedback)

## What Makes a Good Community Tool

### Do

* Solve a specific, common problem
* Include clear, detailed instructions
* Test thoroughly before submitting
* Write a descriptive name and description
* Choose the correct category

### Don't

* Submit incomplete or untested tools
* Copy existing official or community tools
* Include instructions for harmful or abusive activities
* Require unnecessary personal information

## Tracking Your Published Tools

In the **Tools → Custom** tab, published tools show their status:

* **Draft**: Not yet submitted
* **Pending Review**: Awaiting approval
* **Approved**: Live in the marketplace
* Total install count and usage stats

## Community Badges

Approved community tools receive a **Community** badge, making them visible alongside official tools. Users can sort by popularity (total installs) or newest.

## Tips

* **Write great descriptions**: Users decide to install based on the tool description
* **Choose the right category**: Helps users find your tool when browsing
* **Iterate based on feedback**: If users have suggestions, update your tool to improve it
