Discord

Connect Crew to Discord and chat with your AI assistant via direct messages.

Setup Guide

Step 1: Add the Crew Bot

  1. Go to Messengers in the Crew web app

  2. Click Connect next to Discord

  3. You'll be redirected to Discord's authorization page

  4. Select a server (this is just for the OAuth flow — Crew communicates via DM)

  5. Click Authorize

Step 2: Start a DM

  1. After authorization, you'll be redirected back to Crew

  2. Open Discord and find Crew in your direct messages

  3. Send any message to start chatting

That's it! The bot communicates exclusively through direct messages — no server channels or permissions needed.

Usage Examples

"Search for the latest research papers on machine learning transformers."

"Create a summary of my emails from this week."

"Generate a pixel art avatar for my Discord profile."

Features

  • Direct messaging: Private 1-on-1 conversations with Crew

  • Text responses: Full AI capabilities with formatted text

  • Simple setup: One-click OAuth, no bot token needed

Important Notes

  • Crew communicates via DM only — it doesn't post in server channels

  • Discord messages are limited to 2,000 characters — longer responses are automatically split

  • File uploads from Discord to Crew are not currently supported; use the web chat for file-heavy tasks

Disconnecting

Go to Messengers in the Crew web app and click Disconnect next to Discord.
