Click Connect next to KakaoTalk
A pairing code (8 characters) will appear — copy it
Step 2: Find the Crew Channel on KakaoTalk
Open KakaoTalk on your phone or desktop
Search for the Crew official channel (or scan the QR code shown on the web page)
Add the channel as a friend
Step 3: Send the Pairing Code
Open the chat with the Crew channel
Send the pairing code as a message
Crew will confirm the connection: "Your account has been linked successfully!"
That's it! You can now chat with Crew directly on KakaoTalk.
Usage Tips
Starting a Conversation
Simply send a message in the KakaoTalk chat, just like you would in the web app:
"What's the weather like in San Francisco tomorrow?"
"Check if I have any meetings tomorrow morning."
"Search for Mexican restaurants near Mission District."
Sending Files
You can send images to Crew through KakaoTalk. Crew will analyze them just like image uploads on the web:
[Send a photo] "What's in this image?"
[Send a screenshot] "What does this error mean?"
Receiving Files
When Crew creates a file (document, spreadsheet, image, etc.), it sends you a download link in the chat. Tap the link to download the file directly to your device. Links are valid for 24 hours.
Voice Messages
KakaoTalk does not forward voice messages to Crew — only the filename arrives, without the actual audio. To use voice input, try the web app's voice mode or type your message instead.
Cross-Channel Communication
You can ask Crew on KakaoTalk to send results to another channel, or vice versa:
"Send this summary to my Slack."
"Check my email and send the report to my KakaoTalk." (from web or another messenger)
Crew works across all your connected channels seamlessly.
Proactive Intelligence
KakaoTalk now supports Proactive Intelligence — Crew can send you automatic insights like morning briefings, meeting prep, email alerts, and more, directly in your KakaoTalk chat.
To set it up:
Go to Settings → Proactive Intelligence in the web app
Enable the modules you want
Select KakaoTalk as the delivery channel
Important Notes
The pairing code expires after 10 minutes. If it expires, generate a new one from the web app.
Each KakaoTalk account can only be linked to one Crew account.
Crew responds in the same language you use in the conversation.
KakaoTalk has a response time limit — for complex tasks that take longer, Crew uses an async callback to deliver the response when ready.
Proactive messages are text only. If an insight includes files, Crew sends download links instead.
Disconnecting
To disconnect KakaoTalk:
Go to Messengers in the Crew web app
Click Disconnect next to KakaoTalk
The connection is removed immediately
You can reconnect at any time by repeating the setup process.
