# Hidden Features

Crew has several powerful features that aren't immediately obvious. Here are the best ones.

## Cross-Channel Conversation Lookup

**The feature:** Crew can read and reference conversations from any connected channel — web, WhatsApp, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Teams, LINE, or KakaoTalk.

**Why it's powerful:** Start a task on one platform and seamlessly continue on another.

> **On Telegram (commuting):** "Research the top 5 CRM tools for our team." **Later on Web (at desk):** "Take the CRM research from my Telegram conversation and create a comparison spreadsheet."

Crew searches your conversation history, reads the full context, and picks up where you left off. See [Cross-Channel Conversations](/messenger-channels/cross-channel-conversations.md) for details.

## Secret Injection in Scheduled Tasks

**The feature:** Scheduled tasks can securely reference your stored API keys using `{{KEY_NAME}}` placeholders.

**Why it's powerful:** Automate workflows that require authentication without exposing credentials.

> "Set up a daily task that calls my CRM API using {{CRM\_API\_KEY}} to get new leads, then formats a summary and emails it to the sales team."

The key is encrypted at rest and only decrypted at execution time — it never appears in conversation logs.

## Multi-Account Service Support

**The feature:** Connect multiple Google and Microsoft accounts and switch between them in conversation.

**Why it's powerful:** Manage personal and work accounts without logging in and out.

> "Check my **work** Gmail for client emails, then send a personal reminder from my **personal** Gmail."

> "Compare my work calendar with my personal calendar and find overlapping commitments."

Label accounts "Work" and "Personal" in Settings for easy reference.

## Calendar Travel Time

**The feature:** Crew can calculate real travel time between locations using Google Maps data.

**Why it's powerful:** Plan your day with realistic transit times, not guesses.

> "I have meetings at three locations today. Calculate the travel time between each and tell me if my schedule is realistic."

> "How long to get from the office to the airport with traffic right now?"

## Find Free Time Across All Calendars

**The feature:** The free time finder checks ALL your calendars (personal, work, shared, subscribed) and respects working hours.

> "I need a 2-hour block next week for focused work. Find me options that don't conflict with any calendar."

## Python Sandbox with File Pipeline

**The feature:** Upload files, process them with Python, and get results back — all in one step.

**Why it's powerful:** No need for separate data analysis tools.

> \[Upload sales\_data.xlsx] "Run a statistical analysis on this data, create 5 charts showing different trends, and compile everything into a PDF report."

The uploaded file is automatically available in the Python sandbox as `input_1.xlsx`. Output files are saved to My Files.

## Driving Mode (Full Hands-Free)

**The feature:** A full-screen voice interface with automatic speech-to-text and text-to-speech.

**Why it's powerful:** Use Crew while driving, cooking, exercising — completely hands-free.

> Click the car icon → Speak → Crew responds verbally → Speaks again...

All tools work in Driving Mode — you can check email, manage calendar, and search the web entirely by voice.

## Messenger + Scheduled Task Delivery

**The feature:** Scheduled tasks can deliver results to any connected messenger.

**Why it's powerful:** Get automated reports exactly where you'll see them.

> "Every morning at 7:30 AM, check my email and calendar, then send me a briefing summary on WhatsApp."

This means you can get AI-generated insights delivered to the messaging app you check most, without ever opening Crew's web app.

## Document Translation with Format Preservation

**The feature:** Translate entire PDF, DOCX, and PPTX files into 90+ languages while keeping the original formatting.

> "Translate this 20-page PDF contract into Spanish."

The output preserves headers, tables, formatting, and layout.

## Workspace File Editing

**The feature:** Crew can surgically edit files in My Files — find-and-replace, insert at specific lines, append, or delete lines.

> "In the report.txt file, replace all instances of '2025' with '2026' and add a new section at the end titled 'Future Plans'."

No need to rewrite the entire file — Crew makes precise edits.

## Coding Agent (Background Code Changes)

**The feature:** Ask Crew to make code changes to your GitHub repo. It clones the repo, makes changes, and creates a pull request — all in the background.

> "Fix the broken login form in my-org/frontend-app. The submit button doesn't work on mobile browsers."

You continue chatting normally while the agent works. You'll be notified when the PR is ready for review.

## Social Media Analysis

**The feature:** Analyze posts from TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, and Facebook — including video transcripts.

> "Analyze this TikTok video: \[URL]. What's the content about, how's the engagement, and what makes it viral?"

Returns author info, engagement metrics, caption, hashtags, and optional transcript.

## Bookmarks as a Knowledge Base

**The feature:** Save links with tags and notes, then reference them in future conversations.

> "Save this article and tag it 'AI research'." \[Later] "Find my bookmarks about AI research and compile the key insights into a report."

## Natural Language API Calls

**The feature:** Call any REST API through natural language, with secure credential injection.

> "Use my Airtable API key to get all records where status is 'In Progress' and create a summary table."

No need to write code — just describe what you want from the API.

## Tool Notes & Memos

**The feature:** Add personal notes and memos to any custom tool, marketplace skill, or MCP server.

**Why it's powerful:** Keep track of how you use specific tools, store configuration tips, or document workflows — right alongside the tool itself.

To add a note, go to **Tools**, click on any custom or imported tool, and use the note field to add your memo.

## Visual QA for Presentations

**The feature:** Crew can review PPTX presentations for visual issues using a fresh AI inspection.

> "Review this presentation for visual issues — alignment, consistency, readability, and design problems."

A sub-agent analyzes each slide as an image and provides a detailed QA report.
