# File Management & Cloud Storage

Crew can work with files across three storage locations: your **Crew Workspace**, **Google Drive**, and **OneDrive**.

## Crew Workspace

Your personal cloud storage where files created by Crew are stored.

### Listing Files

> "What files are in My Files?"

> "Show me the files I created this week."

### Reading Files

> "Read the contents of report.txt."

> "What does the meeting notes document say?"

Crew automatically converts these formats to readable text:

* PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX
* TXT, CSV, JSON, HTML, Markdown

### Creating Files

> "Save these notes as meeting-notes.txt."

> "Create a file called todo.md with my task list."

### Editing Files

> "In report.txt, replace all mentions of 'Q3' with 'Q4'."

> "Add a new section at the end of the meeting notes."

> "Delete lines 15 through 20 from the config file."

Supported edit operations:

* **Find and replace**: Replace specific text
* **Insert**: Add text at a specific line
* **Append**: Add text at the end
* **Delete lines**: Remove specific line ranges

### Downloading from URLs

> "Download the CSV file from this URL and save it to My Files: <https://example.com/data.csv>"

## Google Drive

### Searching

> "Find the Q4 sales report on my Drive."

> "Search for spreadsheets I edited last week."

> "Find all PDF files in my 'Projects' folder."

### Reading

> "Read the project brief document on Drive."

Crew can read Google Docs, Sheets (as CSV), Slides (as text), PDFs, and plain text files up to 1 MB.

### Uploading

> "Upload this summary to my Google Drive."

> "Save the analysis results to Drive in the 'Reports' folder."

You can also upload My Files to Drive:

> "Upload the meeting-notes.docx file from My Files to Google Drive."

### Browsing Folders

> "List the files in my 'Shared' folder on Drive."

> "What's in the root of my Google Drive?"

### Downloading

> "Download the presentation from my Drive."

### Managing

> "Delete the old draft from my Drive."

## OneDrive

OneDrive supports all the same operations as Google Drive:

### Search & Read

> "Search my OneDrive for the budget spreadsheet."

> "Read the project proposal from OneDrive."

### Upload & Manage

> "Upload this file to my OneDrive 'Documents' folder."

> "Delete the outdated report from OneDrive."

### Cross-Drive Support

OneDrive can also access shared drives:

> "List files in the shared team drive."

## Practical Scenarios

### Document Workflow

> "Find the project plan on Google Drive, read it, update the timeline section with the new dates, and save it back."

### Cross-Platform File Transfer

> "Download the report from OneDrive and upload it to Google Drive in the 'Shared' folder."

### Data Analysis Pipeline

> "Read the sales data CSV from My Files, analyze it with Python, create a chart, and save both the chart and a summary PDF to Google Drive."

### File Cleanup

> "List all files in My Files older than 7 days and tell me which ones I can safely delete."

## Tips

* **Specify the storage**: Be clear about which storage you mean — "My Files," "Google Drive," or "OneDrive"
* **Use folder paths**: "Upload to the 'Reports/2026' folder on Drive" for organized file management
* **Combine with other tools**: Upload email attachments to Drive, save web research to My Files, etc.
